A federal judge will decide whether former mayor Patrick Cannon will report to federal prison early after reports surfaced that he voted after he was sentenced to 44 months in a federal prison. Cannon was scheduled to report to a federal prison in West Virginia on Nov. 18, according to the Charlotte Observer. Today, U.S. District Judge Frank Whitney will decide if Cannon’s voting faux pas is an egregious enough violation to send him to jail sooner.
