It was my version of Modern Family. When The Cosby Show launched in 1984 it looked a lot like my house, my family, my community. It was fun to watch and be able to identify. I thought I was Denise – didn’t every pre-teen girl? And when she went off to Hillman College and the spin-off A Different World began, it was a welcome continuation of who I was, or at least who I thought I could be. And even now on occasion when I watch the reruns, it’s a refreshing reminder of what family is all about. We celebrate the television legacy of The Cosby Show!
