An ER doctor testified that Michael Jackson was dead before he arrived at the hospital based on her radio communications with paramedics working on Jackson at his home. In testimony Friday, Dr. Richelle Cooper testified that Jackson was “clinically dead” when arrived at the hospital. On Monday, she continued her testimony.
In the first week of testimony, the jury heard from Jackson’s ex-security chief, personal assistant and chef. In day two of Dr. Conrad Murray’s involuntary manslaughter trial, Jackson’s ex-security chief testified that Jackson’s children were horrified when they saw Jackson lying on his bedroom floor. Paris cried on the floor and Prince was in shock, Faheem Muhammad testified on Wednesday. Jackson was found lying on his bedroom floor with his mouth and eyes open. Muhammad said he heard Murray ask if anyone knew CPR.
Jackson’s personal assistant testified that Murray called him after discovering an unresponsive Jackson. Michael Williams testified that Murray did not call 911. The assistant also testified that after Jackson was pronounced dead the hospital, Murray requested to to back to the house.
In opening statements, attorneys showed disturbing photographs and an audio recording of Jackson badly slurring his words capped opening day of the Dr. Conrad Murray trial. Murray faces involuntary manslaughter charges in connection with Jackson’s death. In opening statements, Murray’s defense team is trying to build the case alleging Michael Jackson caused his own death. Conrad Murray’s lawyer says Jackson gave himself extra doses of drugs while the doctor was out of the room. The defense calls it “a perfect storm in his body that killed him instantly.”
The trial is expected to last five weeks.
